Bruce Charles Emmons, age 75, of Fruita, Colorado, peacefully passed away on September 17, 2024 at his home. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.
Bruce was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on December 7, 1948. He was the son of the late Charles Emmons and Mary Anne Zylka. The Emmons family spent time in Minnesota and California before settling in Grand Junction, Colorado. Bruce joined the Army in 1967 and proudly served his country including a tour in the Vietnam War. After his military service, he took a break and spent time in Breckenridge with friends who became his family. On April 22, 1978, Bruce married his sweetheart, Helen Toogood.

Bruce was an incredible person and his family was his pride and joy, especially his wife, Helen. Bruce was most at home in the outdoors, camping, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed gardening, working his cattle, branding and watching the Broncos. He loved to share his passion with those around him, especially help each grandchild catch their first fish. His thoughtful and generous spirit will live on in those who will miss him every day.
Bruce was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years Helen and his parents. He is survived by his daughters, Dana (Ryan) Duran of Craig, Mary (Lance) Combs of Grand Junction, and his beloved grandchildren, Sicily (Josh) Mottillo, Haley and Carter Duran and Lance and Raleigh Combs as well as extended family and close friends.
