Elsie Mae Combs, 95, passed away at home on March 13, 2025, in Grand Junction, Colorado.Elsie was born June 8, 1929, to Roger F and Pearl E Walton, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She lived all her life in Colorado including the towns of Cripple Creek, Fruitvale, Fruita and Grand Junction. She was a graduate of Central High School. Tommy and Elsie raised their family in Fruita Colorado where they co- owned and operated Walton’s Market. Both she and Tommy were active in community and church.
Elsie’s life was centered around her family. She enjoyed 76 years of marriage to her husband John Thomas (Tommy) Combs. Together they enjoyed 5 generations of their family.
She is survived by her husband, John Thomas Combs, their daughter Patti Turner (Doug) , 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.
Elsie had a passion for sewing, crocheting, quilting, cooking and baking. Her joy was having the entire family together. Over the years she dedicated many hours to volunteer work in the valley.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Elsie will be greatly missed and loved forever.
