It is with great sadness that the family of Gregory (Greg) George Otto announces his passing on April 6, 2023. Greg was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on May 2, 1966. Greg started school at St. Gregory’s Catholic School in North East, Pennsylvania. In 1979, Greg and his family moved to Washington State where he and his siblings grew up. Greg was very active in several sports including cross country, track and football. Greg also enjoyed hunting and anything active. Greg graduated from Kennewick High School in 1985 and shortly after joined the United States Navy where he served for 21 years achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer ABHC(AW). Greg met and married his first wife Wanda while in the Navy and was stationed in several places during his 21 year career settling in Grace, Idaho upon his retirement from the Navy. Greg continued his hobbies of hunting, golfing, and taking trips on his Honda Goldwing motorcycle. His wife Wanda passed away after 33 years of marriage.
In 2020, Greg met and married his current wife, Sue. Greg and Sue were deeply in love and this was evident to all who knew them. The two of them were building a life together and recently purchased a home. They made many memories traveling and spending time together, whether it was bringing each other lunch or working on the house, as well as loving their dog, Georgia. Greg was the most loving husband to Sue during their marriage that was cut too soon. Greg had the strongest work ethic and was respectful to everyone he met. Greg was caring, generous and a practical joker. Greg was a huge Pittsburgh sports fan, especially for the Steelers and the Penguins. Greg was full of energy and always gave 150%. He was loved by all who met him and would do anything for anyone. Greg will leave a lasting impact for all who knew him and will be missed dearly.
Greg will be lovingly remembered by the love of his life and best friend, Sue; stepson Stephen Rice; parents, George and Sally; siblings, Maggie (David), George (Cassy), and Bryan (Mary), and grandkids, Monique, Kyle, Malina, Ariana and Raven. Greg will also be forever remembered by his nieces and nephews, Tia (Daniel), Turner, Trinity, Rebecca, Sam, Zavier, and Breahna; great nieces, Alivia and Meadow; and extended family and friends. Greg is preceded in death by his first wife Wanda Otto, brother Robert Otto and various cousins, aunts, and uncles.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 16, 2023, please stop by to share your memeories and support anytime from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Snyder Grand Valley Memorials located at 292 26 ¼ Rd., Grand Junction, CO 81503. A Celebration of Life will also be held in Idaho in the near future with his final resting place at Arlington National Cemetery.
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Greg, but we know he is watching over us in heaven
