Joyce Victoria Ostler

Joyce Victoria Ostler, affectionately known as Vicki, was born on August 22, 1947, in Murray Utah. She peacefully departed this life on December 25, 2024, in Rifle Colorado surrounded by family.

Vicki had many roles in her life, she was a homemaker and mother, she had professions in insurance, retail and transportation. She dedicated many years of her life to caregiving for family members, including the last years she spent helping care for her grandson Gage.

Vicki was fortunate to experience diverse cultures throughout her childhood as a daughter of an Air Force family. She attended schools in Japan, Germany, England and the United States.

Vicki loved the sunshine and being warm. Some of her favorite activities, gardening and houseboating in Lake Powell revolved around that. She also loved poking around in thrift stores and finding bargains. She enjoyed knitting. Many of her friends and family have benefitted from that skill and have wonderful handmade blankets, sweaters, hats, slippers and such.

She was an avid fan of the Broncos and the Avalanche but reserved the bulk of her devotion for Elvis.

Vicki is survived by her children Gene (Tami) Parker, Debbi (Rex) Butterfield, Ada (Dan) Shillcox, Keith (Lenny) Parker and Cathy (Tyler) Babcock. She is also survived by her mother Joyce Smith; siblings Michelle, Bert, Jamie and Robyn, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends, including her dearest friend Ann.

She was preceded in death by her father Gene Smith and her brother Matt.

Vicki touched many lives. She will be remembered for her caring, her compassion and

humor, and will be deeply missed.
