Lily Rose (Lake) Faudree, 91, was a very kind and gentle soulwho loved her Savior Jesus Christ with all her heart.
Lily was born in Waterloo, Oklahoma to Everett and Rose Lake. Lily enjoyed growing up in Waterloo and in Edmond, Oklahoma with her parents and her brother, Orval Lake. She had fond memories of growing up on a farm in a house which her grandparents built. She and her family later lived next to a store that her father owned. Lily’s mother was a schoolteacher, who later for many years taught in a one-room country schoolhouse in Worland, Wyoming.
Lily graduated from Wyoming’s Washakie County High School (now Worland High School). She worked for several years as a telephone operator in Worland. After earning degrees from a technical school in Omaha in 1953, Lily and a friend moved to Washington, DC where they did clerical work for the Department of the Navy. Lily married Robert Faudree in 1956, and they and their children, Mark and Leslie,moved to Grand Junction in 1964. Lily and Robert divorced in the 1970s.
Lily loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed the friendships she formed at her church and through her work at the Credit Bureau of Grand Junction and St. Mary’s Collection Department.
She is survived by her children, Leslie and Mark, and daughter-in-law, Andrea. Lily’s family wishes to thank HopeWest Hospice for their loving care. Donations may be made to Roice-Hurst Humane Society or HopeWest.
A celebration of Lily’s life will be held on Saturday, November 2, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at a family home. Please call (970) 712-6422 for directions.
