Margery Annette Johnson

July 14, 1938 — January 26, 2023

Margery Annette Johnson of Palisade, CO peacefully died January

Thursday 26th, 2023 at Hope West Hospice. Margery was born to

Margery and Herbert Croft in Denver Colorado. on June 14, 1938. She

was 84 years old.


Margery was in the first class to graduate Cherry Creek High School

June 6th, 1956. She always was a fantastic Mother, she did however at

the beginning her marriage she PDRC (put dad through college) We

don’t know the school, but she did go to Secretarial school. She

graduated from Intelligence College with a degree in medical records as

a medical transcriptionist April 12, 2002.


Margery was preceded in death by her husband Audie Charles Johnson,

her parents Margery and Herbert Croft, and her brother David Croft.

She was survived by her brother Bob Thompson (Jansson), her children

Mark Johnson (Sherry), Timothy Johnson (Lora), Tashina Quian (Jim),

and Deborah Johnson (Kyle), 15 Grandchildren and 23 Great

Grandchildren.


Her lifelong accomplishments were a Pastor’s Wife, ordained, published

writer, secretary, Mother, the owner/op of High-Country Chimney

Sweep Cedaredge CO, Owner/op Dairy Queen in Burlington CO a

volunteer at Church in the City Beth Abraham 2 years (Denver CO),

Volunteer at St. Anthony’s Hospital 2 years (Denver CO) driver for


Senior Companions for 9 years, she had over 10.000 hours for Senior

Companions. (Grand Junction CO) and accomplished musician focused

mainly as a pianist.


Her hobbies were having coffee with her family at the coffee shop,

talking about the Bible, praying with her family and friends, shopping,

driving her senior companions, and her favorite serving Jesus any way

she could.


She was kindhearted and gracious, as a mother, friend, and stranger.

She loved to give, she gave her time to complete strangers, if anyone

needed her help, she would do whatever she was able. She was an

inspiration to not only to her family but to everyone she encountered.

She was also strong willed, sharped tonged and not shy, she would go

after a project and hit “it head on” no matter how hard, or stressful it

was, she never quit.


She was a prayer warrior, every day praying for everyone she knew,

friends, family, and anyone who needed prayer.

Margery was also a published writer of a book with whom she was

impassioned with writing, she would want all the glory to be given to her

Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It was her wish that everyone read her

book Foreverness. A book about explain the gospel in easy-to-

understand terms. After her husband passed, she found her inspiration

for her book, her friend Maurice whom she loved and wanted to see him

in heaven someday.

The Memorial Service will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church

395 31 5/8 Road, Grand Junction, CO 81504 at 11:00 am on

February 24th, 2023. The burial will be at the Veteran’s Memorial

Cemetery 2830 Riverside Parkway, Grand Junction, CO 81501

at 1:00 pm.
