Sylvia Lenora Herrmann

Sylvia Lenora (Lewis) Herrmann, age 84, passed away on May 5th, 2023, in Grand Junction Colorado. She was born on August 1st, 1938, in a little one-room log cabin near Cahone, Colorado, to Dale and Sylvia Lewis. Lenora was the eldest of seven girls and certainly by circumstance, a professional delegator. She spent many happy hours of her childhood playing with sisters along the canyon rims, cultivating her love for the wild red rock county. She attended school in the small town of Cahone.

On September 15, 1953, at the age of 15, Lenora was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn by Bro. Clyde Lewis. That day, she began a lifelong walk with our Lord and Savior. A faithful servant, she labored as a prophet and midwife, teacher, and mother in the faith.

Lenora met Mondis Herrmann in 1959 during the 4th of July meetings in Parkland, Oklahoma. She had a personality he just couldn't resist, and they married a short time later on August 21st. To this union, they had 6 children, 21 grandchildren, and 47 great-grand children.

Lenora enjoyed being a homemaker and caring for her family. She raised a garden and canned, was cheif cook at hunting camp, and loved having tea parties with her granddaughters. Mondis and Lenora together found pleasure traveling many miles with their friends seeking out God's beautiful creations. Lenora learned to sew at a young age and was an avid seamstress. Countless of us have been wrapped in love by her beautiful quilts that she made with great love and care.

We are going to miss her words of wisdom, her sassy spark, her faithful attendance in meeting, and her joyous, slightly off-key singing.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 9th from 5-7 PM at Snyder Memorials, (292 26 1/4 Rd.) with a funeral service Wednesday, May 10th at The Church of the Firstborn (3150 B Rd.), and an interment to directly follow at the Palisade City Cemetery (3529 Front St.)
